Pharmacy technicians are regulated by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.

Certification is required – though technicians may work in a pharmacy for up to 1-year under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist. Thereafter, certification must be completed. The approved exams are the PTCB test and the ExCPT exam. Candidates must register to the State Board before commencing employment.
