Pharmacy technicians are regulated by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. However, certification – with either the PTCB or ExCPT – is currently not required, and neither of these exams are officially approved. That said, employers often require candidates to hold one of either of these exams.

Registration is required. There are two phases: Phase I and Phase II. Phase I training must be completed prior to employment. Phase II training must be completed within 90-days thereafter. Phase I training typically involves learning about State regulations, protocols, drug classification, job descriptions, telephone protocols, and security and safety issues.
